Remediation of existing roadworks and upgrading the structural capacity of an existing reinforced concrete box culvert within the operational confines of the Tully Training Area

The project involves the remediation of existing roadworks and upgrading the structural capacity of an existing reinforced concrete box culvert within the operational confines of the Tully Training Area.  Work includes the surface preparation and installation of a crushed rock subbase drainage blanket and installation of a blended basecourse manufactured from locally sourced decomposed granite and plastic clays.

The Tully Training Area houses the Jungle Training Wing which is operated by Department of Defence.  The project interfaces directly with environmentally sensitive areas managed by Wet Tropics Management Authority with stormwater turnouts dispensing directly into WTMA environs.  Strict compliance is required with the Defence Environmental Clearance Certificate which reflects not only Defence requirements but also the conditions precedent reflected on the maintenance permit and environmental management plan issued by WTMA.
